Makita LS1019L is an excellent product for contractors because of its great power, remarkable cutting abilities, and small footprint because of the exclusive rail system Makita Company utilizes. For the average woodworker, I think this is a good choice, primarily for the dust collection. Woodworker shops need good dust extraction systems since they are typically in enclosed, and somewhat small areas. It also sports a unique rail system for the sliding action, which allows for a smaller footprint, comparable to the ‘Gliding’ technology in the Bosch 10″ sliding compound miter (see link below). Our saw was dead on accurate right out of the box which was a nice breath of fresh air. No fumbling around with lining things up. We just had to install the blade and we were set to cut.

It comes with positive miter stops at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6, 45, and 60 degrees, both left and right.

If you do any large base and crown molding, this miter saw is perfect for you. It’s got a tall fence system and an impressive cutting depth capacity. To achieve this increased cutting capacity, Makita designed the overall system of components they call the DXT(TM) – Deep and Exact Cutting Technology. So we know this saw has a ton of cool and unique features but how does it perform? For me, it’s one of the best Miter saws we have tested. The direct drive motor is not only powerful but extremely smooth to use and operate. The electric brake is another cool feature to help with the overall safety of this saw. It also comes with a connector piece and a flexible hose. Though, Makita LS1019L has exclusive features and tends to give a tough competition to miter saws in the 12inch category; but, one thing that its blade drags slightly in the long cutting tasks. Now, this can be a trouble, which requires adjustment again to have longer cuts on the wood. Of course, it may be time-consuming without any doubt. Conclusion: Should You Buy It? Overall this is a great saw. My biggest complaint is the fencing system and not being able to slide the fence to support certain types of applications.
